- Is Destino Builders licensed, bonded, and insured?
- Yes. Destino Builders holds a New Mexico GB-02 General Building Contractor license, number 423140, and carries both a contractor's bond and full insurance. You're welcome to verify the license directly with the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department before signing anything.
- What types of projects do you take on?
- Ground-up custom homes, kitchen and bathroom remodels, whole-home remodels, room additions and second-story builds, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), garages, workshops, outbuildings, and outdoor living spaces such as decks and covered patios.
- Do you take small jobs?
- Yes. A backsplash, a countertop swap, or a single-room refresh is welcome. Smaller jobs are quoted the same way larger ones are, with an itemized written estimate before any work starts.
- How much does a remodel or custom home cost?
- Cost depends on scope, finish level, and site conditions, so we don't publish a price per square foot — a number like that is guesswork until someone has seen the space. After a consultation and walkthrough, you get an itemized written estimate showing labor and materials line by line, with options where they exist.
- Is the estimate free?
- Yes. The initial consultation and written estimate are free. There's no obligation to move forward.
- How long does a project take?
- A kitchen or bath remodel typically runs several weeks; additions and custom homes run months. Permitting and inspection timelines vary by jurisdiction and are built into the schedule you're given rather than tacked on later. You get a realistic timeline in writing, not an optimistic one.
- Do you handle permits and inspections?
- Yes. We pull the required permits and coordinate inspections with the appropriate city or county authority for your project's jurisdiction.
- What areas do you serve?
- Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, Bernalillo, and the surrounding central New Mexico communities. If you're just outside that range, call and ask — the answer is often yes.
- Can I make changes after work has started?
- Yes. Changes are handled as a written revision to the estimate so you can see exactly what the adjustment costs before approving it. Nothing changes on the invoice that wasn't approved by you first.
