General Contracting

Licensed residential general contractor

Destino Builders is a licensed residential general contractor serving Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, and Bernalillo, New Mexico, under NM GB-02 license #423140 — we plan, permit, staff, and run the whole job so you deal with one company instead of six trades.

General contracting means we own the schedule and the outcome. We walk the property, write an itemized scope, pull the permits the jurisdiction requires, line up the trades in the right order, and hold everyone to the plan. You get one point of contact, one written estimate, and one person answering for the work.

Every project starts with a written, line-by-line estimate before anything is torn out. We separate what is included from what is excluded in plain language, so change orders come from decisions you make, not from surprises we should have caught in the walkthrough.

We work on everything from a single-room remodel to a whole-house renovation to ground-up residential construction. If a scope needs a specialty license we do not hold, we bring in a licensed sub and coordinate them under our contract — that arrangement is stated in the estimate, not buried.

Common Questions

Are you licensed and insured in New Mexico?
Yes. Destino Builders holds NM GB-02 license #423140, and we are bonded and insured. We can provide the license number and certificates of insurance before you sign anything.
Do I need a general contractor for a small project?
Not always. If your job is one trade and one room, you may be fine hiring that trade directly. A general contractor earns their keep when the job crosses trades, needs permits, or has to be sequenced — that is where scheduling and inspection failures cost real money.
How do you charge?
Fixed-price itemized estimates for defined scopes. You see the line items, the allowances, and the exclusions before work starts. Anything outside that scope is a written change order you approve first.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We apply for the permits your project requires and schedule the inspections. Permit fees are shown as their own line so you can see exactly what the jurisdiction charges.
