Painting

Interior, exterior, and cabinets

We paint interiors, exteriors, and cabinetry across Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, and Bernalillo, New Mexico, with the prep work priced honestly — because in this climate, prep is what decides how long the finish lasts.

New Mexico sun is hard on exterior paint. South and west elevations take UV that will chalk a cheap coating in a few seasons, so we spec products rated for it and prepare the surface properly: wash, scrape, prime bare areas, caulk joints, then coat.

Interior work is about masking and patience. We patch, sand, prime stains, protect flooring and fixtures, and cut clean lines. Two coats means two coats.

Cabinet painting is its own process — degrease, scuff, prime with a bonding primer, and spray a hard finish. Rolled latex on kitchen cabinets is how you get fingerprints that never come out.

Common Questions

How often does exterior paint need redoing here?
With good product and real prep, typically 7 to 10 years on stucco, less on sun-hammered south and west walls. Chalking, hairline cracking, and color fade are the signs it is time.
Do you paint stucco?
Yes — elastomeric or masonry-rated coatings, with cracks addressed first. Painting over unrepaired stucco cracks just makes the crack a painted crack.
Can kitchen cabinets be painted instead of replaced?
If the boxes and doors are sound, yes, and it saves a great deal against new cabinetry. Doors are removed, sprayed, and rehung with new hardware if you want it.
How many coats do you apply?
Two finish coats over primed surfaces as standard. Deep color changes and bare substrate sometimes need more, which we call out in the estimate rather than after.
